Large-scale self-supporting warehouse assembly

We assemble the complete self-supporting structure of your distribution center: anchor engineering, surveying and millimeter tolerance control, with our own lifting equipment and crews. Record: 1,400 tons of steel in a single assembly.

Assembly of a high-bay self-supporting warehouse by Aiyra Electromecánica: crane lifting the self-supporting structure of a distribution center
Real Aiyra Electromecánica project — self-supporting structure assembly

A self-supporting warehouse is one where the racking itself carries the roof, the cladding and the entire building envelope. This makes it possible to build high-bay distribution centers without traditional civil works — but it demands precision assembly, because the racking is the structure of the building.

At Aiyra Electromecánica we carry out this assembly with our own crews, up-to-date insurance, and permanent on-site supervision. We work with systems from the leading international manufacturers — Mecalux, ULMA and AR Racking — in coordination with intralogistics automation integrators.

What our self-supporting assembly includes

  • Anchor engineering and slab verification before starting.
  • Surveying and millimeter tolerance control at height (over 30 m).
  • Coordination with the automation integrator and the storage system supplier.
  • Own lifting equipment and crews — no subcontracting of critical work.
  • Safety protocols (Dec. 911/96) and a permanent zero-incident goal.
  • As-built documentation and commissioning.

Why choose a self-supporting structure

When height and storage density are the priority, the self-supporting design makes better use of the land and speeds up construction, because the racking and the building rise at the same time. It is the typical solution for retail, pharma, food and logistics that operate 24 hours, where stopping is not an option.

The key is execution: out-of-range tolerances at 30 meters compromise the operation of the stacker crane or shuttle. That is why assembly must be done with surveying, dimensional control and a single project lead.
